A local online marketplace that helps shoppers discover and support legitimate local businesses, starting in East Orange, NJ. It's operated by Amelia Promise, Inc., a New Jersey nonprofit. When does The Qazbar open to shoppers? As soon as we have about 15 founding merchants on board, we open to the public. Join now and your business will be listed from day one. Who can join? Any legitimate business, nonprofit or professional service provider that meets our business verification requirements. Our first focus is Food & Dining, Hair & Beauty Care, and Convenience & Grocery, but every type of local business is welcome. How do I join? Fill out the short form on our [Why Join page](https://join.theqazbar.com/join#join), or scan the QR code on any Qazbar flyer or card. We'll follow up to schedule a short onboarding call and help you set up your profile. How long does onboarding take? Once we have your business information, most businesses finish onboarding in under 30 minutes. Do I need an online store? No. You can simply have a business profile that helps customers find and contact you. If you already have a website or online store, you can link to it. How do customers pay me? Directly. Customers pay you through your own payment system, such as PayPal, Stripe or Square. The Qazbar never handles your money or sits between you and your customers. You handle delivery, returns and refunds, just as you do today. Will you help me set up my profile? Yes. It's part of onboarding. We'll help you with your business description, photos and listing your products or services. ## Cost What does it cost right now? Nothing for your first six months. If you're one of the first 100 businesses to join, the $199 setup fee is waived too. What happens after six months? You move to the monthly rate for the plan you choose, starting at $50/month. We'll contact you ahead of time so it's never a surprise, and you'll see your exact rate before anything is charged. Do you take a cut of my sales? No. There are no sales commissions. Your fee is a flat monthly rate based on your plan, not on your sales. Can I really leave at any time? Yes. Give written notice (an email is fine) and you're out, with no penalty. ## Verification and reporting Why does my business need to be verified? Verification lets shoppers know they're dealing with a real, legitimate business. It's a documentation step, not a judgment of your business or products. You'll need your business name, EIN, address and a New Jersey Certificate of Good Standing. We'll guide you through it. Don't have them yet? An EIN is free from the IRS and takes a few minutes online, and a New Jersey Certificate of Good Standing costs $25. Why do you ask for a quarterly report? As a nonprofit, we need to show real evidence that The Qazbar helps local businesses. The report takes a few minutes and is confidential. It has nothing to do with what you pay, and only combined, anonymized totals are ever shared. ## Results Will The Qazbar bring me customers? The Qazbar makes your business easier to find and contact, and we actively market the marketplace to local shoppers. No honest platform can guarantee a specific amount of sales or traffic, and we won't either. How will customers find my business? Shoppers can search by business name, category, products, services, keywords or location. Do I have to use any other software? No. Any extra business tools we offer are optional and are not required to take part in The Qazbar. How do I reach you?
